We are looking at expanding our Sales team with an experienced Business Development Manager to achieve our perceived growth. Does this seem like the perfect match? Let us give you some more information.

What kind of company is Sofico, you ask? Good question! Sofico is a software company, developing and implementing our own ERP-software package. Whether it is consulting, developing or the architecture around it, we have in-house expertise. Our HQ is in Ghent, but we have no less than 9 other offices globally. Next to our Miles offering we are actively expanding our product portfolio with SaaS based solutions.

Our ERP-software is called ‘Miles’ and is meant for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. It’s an end-to-end solution encompassing front-, mid- and back-office functions that can be extensively configurated to the customers’ needs. Our customers are leasing and finance companies, and mobility management companies in the finance and automotive sector.

As a Business Development Manager at Sofico, you produce new business sales revenue from a subscription-based license model and professional services. You accomplish this through account planning, territory planning, researching prospective customers, using business development strategies, and completing field-based sales activities within a defined set of prospects and clients in France.

This means you:

  • Build trust and deep multi-tiered relationships through assigned prospects and clients’ organization, from business/project/IT teams to CxO level.

  • Will dedicate 90% of your time to hunting new contractors. You will focus on cross-selling our MMP Cloud and you will follow up and drive on the complete sales cycle in order to create long-term value for our customers.

  • Implementing methods in order to grow our business in the French market

  • Oversee client relationship mapping to the account team, orchestrating an account strategy while leading across a broad virtual team (Sales Engineers, Solutions Specialists, Marketing, etc.)

  • Are a trusted advisor to your customers by understanding their business and advising on how Sofico can help their Business & IT roadmap.

  • Identify the right specialist/support resources to bring into a deal, at the right time.

  • Work with the greater Sofico solution teams to develop a solution based on the customer’s strategic outcomes.

  • Develop a clear roadmap and building capabilities across our clients and Sofico teams to promote an outstanding customer experience.

  • Achieve financial targets set out for the assigned territory.

Your interests and skills

With your strong interpersonal skills, you can successfully network at different levels. You can easily bring people together through your expertise and enthusiasm and drive results across teams (including remote colleagues). You embrace challenges and approach them with a positive, creative and growth mindset.

You can work independently, are hands-on and have excellent communication skills. Negotiating is your second nature, and you possess a high level of assertiveness. Next to that, you’re able to present and summarize on an executive level, both internally as well as with customers and prospects.

What else is expected:

  • Several years of sales experience within software OR solutions sales organization. Previous sales experience in finance & leasing, and/or automotive is a plus.

  • Experience in producing new business and prospecting, negotiating deals, and maintaining healthy C-level relationships.

  • Ability to manage long and complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience with strategic thinking on executive level.

  • The ability to understand broad, macro-level business IT needs for a prospective client.

  • A fluent level of English and French.
