Sofico is a global ERP software provider with an exclusive focus on automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. Our software called “Miles” is an end-to-end solution encompassing front, mid and back-office functions that can be extensively customized to meet customer needs. Our clients are leasing and financial services companies as well as mobility management companies active in the automotive sector.
For the implementation of our software in Japan (as well as for Japanese clients operating across Asia-Pacific), we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager who can deliver projects within scope, time and budget. Our implementation projects take between 6 months to 3 years and follow a hybrid methodology with different workstreams running in parallel.
What the job is about
The Project Manager plans the overall project activities and its required resources, performs project monitoring and reporting, and with the team, is responsible for the realization of the project within set scope, time and budget.
As a Project Manager your main role and responsibilities are as follows:
Planning
- Provides detail plans before start of each phase and updates on progress and changes
- Co-ordinates the plans with the customer
- Defines and documents the high-level scope, time, cost, risks, stakeholders of the project in the PMP
Monitoring and controlling
- Manages resources and assigns work orders to the team
- Monitors progress, quality, effort and time for all activities assigned to team (project status) (via workstream leaders)
- Tracks activities and tasks (keep project activity log)
- Reports & follows up on issues and risks (keep risk log and issue log)
- Reports & manages change requests
- Initiates measures and informs the customer timely in case of deviation from plan
- Takes lessons learned
- Manages the contact and contract with external parties
- Works in line with the defined PM methodology and standard operational procedures
Decision making
- Takes decisions on all issues that are the responsibility of Sofico in close alignment with the Team Coach and/or Unit Coach
Communication
- Communicates all requirements concerning support and deliverables to the customer
- Prepares status and progress reports
- Solves issues concerning Sofico – customer cooperation
- Provides other information on request
Escalation
- Escalates any issue that endangers project success or leads to increased budget or time requirement
- Escalates any issue which cannot be agreed with the customer
- Attends steering committee meetings and attend change advisory board meetings on demand
Organization
- Conducts and moderates team meetings and project manager meetings
- Invites for meetings and workshops
- Assures result documentation
- Organizes project files
Acceptance of project results
- Hands over project results to the customer for acceptance
- During post go-live support phase assures support on site and off site
Post Go Live services
- Perform planning, controlling and other project management tasks for larger live customer initiatives
- Project management for major upgrades
- Project management for substantial change requests, new modules etc.
What we expect from you
- More than 5 years of implementation experience with medium to large scale ERP deployments covering the different phases of a software implementation project: from pre-sales phase till go-live; including requirement analysis, configuration, development, migration, testing, etc.
- Experience with project management and project management methodologies (SCRUM, Agile, etc).
- Proficient with tools like Excel, JIRA, MS Project, etc
- Native Japanese or comparable JLPT level. Business English.
- Prepared to travel to and work from customer's site.
