Welcoming new leadership at SOFICO

After decades of operational leadership, CEO Gémar Hompes and CTO and co-founder Piet Maes are stepping back from their day-to-day roles to join the SOFICO Board of Directors. At the same time, we welcome Wim De Bruyne as Chief Executive Officer and Clive Brett as Chief Technology Officer.

Under the leadership of Gémar and Piet, SOFICO has taken important steps in recent years to prepare the company for the future. These are just some of the many achievements that have reinforced our foundations and paved the way for continued growth:

• Welcoming Apheon and later Astorg as investors to support sustainable expansion and long-term continuity
• Expanding our leadership team with CCO Michaël Deroost (2022) and CPO Steffen Tallieu (2023)
• Refreshing our brand to reflect SOFICO’s ambitions and global presence
• Acquiring UBench, broadening our capabilities in automotive lifecycle management

Today’s leadership transition is the latest milestone in that journey — with Wim and Clive joining to lead SOFICO into its next chapter of growth.

Wim brings global experience from Montagu Private Equity and Barco, where he held senior leadership roles. As CEO, he will lead SOFICO’s overall strategy and operations, focusing on international expansion, platform innovation, and strengthening customer relationships.

Clive joins SOFICO from COX Automotive, where he led technology for multiple SaaS business units, including FleetMaster in Ghent. As CTO, he will take leadership of SOFICO’s technology organization, using his industry knowledge and experience to drive cloud and AI innovation, scale delivery, and strengthen technical capabilities worldwide.

This transition is a sign of continuity and commitment — with the same trusted collaboration, strengthened by fresh perspectives and a future-fit leadership team ready to scale with your ambitions.
